Ardesia
Despite the fact that it is a gray, neutral finish, Ardesia retains the warmth and naturalness of oak wood. This finish consists of a stain and two layers of acrylic lacquer. The materials are made in Italy and offer a good protection to the surfaces.
The stain has the role of pigmenting the surfaces, offering a neutral color, with gray tones, through which the natural shades of oak can be seen: gold, brown, green, gray, burgundy.
The color Ardesia is very suitable for furniture belonging to contemporary, modern, classic and even Scandinavian arrangements.
Color and gloss:
The color Ardesia is gray, with shades of gold, green, burgundy and brown. It is a matte finish, the degree of gloss being 4.
Ardesia has the property to give a uniform look and color to the furniture. But since it is not an opaque finish, the final color will be influenced to some extent by the color of the oak elements from which the furniture is made. Thus, it is possible that different components of the furniture have different shades. But in the end, this feature is one of the things that make the Ardesia color so much appreciated and sought after.

Therefore, in case of purchases made at different times of products in the Ardesia finish, products that will be placed close to each other, in the same room, we recommend that you provide us with a reference sample from the previously purchased product. Being a lacquer with quite good UV resistance, the color will be stable and will not change significantly over time. The furniture will eventually acquire a slightly warmer touch.

On the contrary, the texture and the appearance of the oak will be highlighted in a balanced way, a little more discreet than other finishes, preserving the characteristic appearance and beauty of natural oak.

Once the coating is completely dried and matured, the only perceptible odor will be that of oak wood.

The acrylic lacquer used is of very good quality and offers an increased resistance to scratches and wear. Nevertheless, one should know that scratches and dust will be more visible on darker colors than on lighter colors.

Maintenance:
The maintenance is easy to do. The lacquer offers a good protection against dirt and stains, but one should know that dust and scratches are more visible on dark surfaces than on light surfaces.<
Fordust removaland for regular surface maintenance, use a dry, soft, clean, non-abrasive cloth. The wiping should be done along the direction of the wood fiber.
Toremove the spilled liquids from the surface, use initially an absorbent material (paper towel, soft and clean cloth), after which wipe again the surface with a dry, soft and clean cloth. The removal of spilled liquids should not be delayed, especially in the case of pigmented liquids, because over time the wood can absorb these liquids and can become stained (under the lacquer layer).
Toremove dry stains or stubborn dirt, use a clean and non-abrasive slightly damp cloth (in water or in a diluted solution containing water and a mild detergent or soap), after which wipe again the surface with a dry, soft and clean cloth. The wiping should be done along the direction of the wood fiber.
In all the cases described above, you should avoid applying pressure to the surface you are cleaning and do not insist too much on a certain area as you will change the degree of gloss of that area (the action is similar to polishing).
Do not use for cleaning and maintenance sprays and universal cleaning products, abrasive paper, steel wool or corrosive products as they can attack the lacquer film generating traces that cannot be removed. "Pronto" type products that contain wax can change the gloss of the surface.
Aggressive substances such as acetone, thinners, concentrated alcohols, etc. should never touch the lacquered surfaces.
We recommend the periodic repositioning of decorative objects placed on the finished surfaces.
The placement of furniture in direct sunlight or near heat sources that can "wash" wooden surfaces (fireplace, radiator, strong lamps, etc.) should be avoided. Even if it offers a pretty good sealing of the surfaces, the acrylic lacquer allows the wood to "breathe" and there will always be an exchange of humidity with the air in the room. The ideal humidity in the room is between 40% and 60%. Too low or too high can damage the furniture.
In case of significant surface damage (for example: scratches) it will be necessary to strip the surface and reapply the coating.
